Need info on NP-208 tranfer case

My buddy blew up a 1984 Chevy 3/4 ton chevy NP-208 transfer case. Unfortunately we don't have the money to buy a new one. We found a automatic one, but don't know what you would have to do to make it fit a M465 tranny.

If anyone knows what to do please help me out.

if the automatic was a 700r4 or th350, (27 spline input) you need to completely disassemble the tcase and swap the input gear for the one in the broken case, assuming that it is still good.

if it came from a th400, it has the same 32 spline input and the sm465 and will bolt up no problem.
