Need info.

I know this is a newbie question, but what is GVWR, and how is it determined and what can you do to increase it. I am confused. I have a 95 tahoe with a 6800 gvrw and a 97 silverado with only a 6200 GVWR. Both 4x4. 350 with Auto. I know the 97 puts out more horsepower. what is the difference in numbers and How do I increase the silverado. Thank

i went to the dmv to get truck tags for my 90k5 and they changed mine to 7501

It's the weight of the vehicle.. why would you want to increase the weight?

The question that i can't understand is my same truck has three different gvwr's options. 6200, 6600, and 6800. Why are there three and what is the difference?
