Need new driveshaft, from who? and how to order it, help pleasse

Seems i hit a rock or something cause my d shaft has a dent in it.

How much have you paid for your d-shaft?? advantages of a new one???
Seems its a hasle to order one isnt it..

a complete front with a c.v. in any length with new joints and rebuilt c.v. will be $250-$325 around here.
for a rear i would guess more than $100. prob closer to $150.
it cost me $89 for driveline tech just to shorten mine.
 
Front or rear? Is your current driveshaft stock? If money is tight you could always hope to find a good one at the local junk yard, but if yours is in otherwise good condition I would also recommend having it retubed and balanced. Advantages to a complete new shaft in the front specifically would be that the spline section of the stock shafts tend to get worn and loose and then start to wobble, so that problem would also be dealt with. If your u-joints are in need of replacement as well, then you are 3/4 of the way to a new shaft at that point anyway so you could replace the whole thing and keep the current one as a trail spare.
 
just to add: I paid about $550 to my door for my rear 1350 slip yoke c/v and just a hair under $1300 for my front 42* c/v long spline with flanged pinion yoke at the diff. You should be able to do A LOT better than that if your old stuff was working okay for you.
 
If you call Jesse at High Angle, he'll ask you all the questions needed to get you the right shaft. He won't try to sell you something you don't need. He'll ask what the truck is used for, specs, current angles etc. His stuff is a bit more expensive though. Just for example, a rear 1350 CV shaft, expect $400-450+.
 
Adams Driveshaft in NV that is the Place. They are rebuilding there website so you have to call em and ask for James Adams. Im telling you its the PLace to get it done
 
Second on High Angle Driveline. Both mine are from Jesse and you won't be dissappointed. I've always operated under the premise that breakage is an excuse to upgrade and improve. His products are top of the line and yes a bit more expenseive but they are rock solid.
 
HMMMM.... over $300 for one sure wasnt what i expected...ill try the local shop.
BTW its the rear and i dont think its the stock one cause the U-joints used are the rear at axle 1310 and the one at the t-case is 1350 and that configuration seems to be of a 3/4 ton and mine is a 1/2 ton
 
I would take the opportunity to upgrade your 1310 to a 1350 if you can at the same time. I went with a 1410 for my Corp14ff along with the NP205 1350 flat flange with a 1350 CV. On the front I went with the HAD 42 degree CV with 1410 yokes. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. If you just want to replace what you have with the same thing, most any driveline shop will fix it for a reasonable price. If you want something better, the price will go up exponentially.
 
I will also mention that my rear driveshaft (high angle driveline like the front) has been through 2 transfer cases and 3 rear axles and I have not had to replace a u-joint yet!
 
X4 for High Angle Driveline. I had mine in the rig for about 8 years and it still has the same joints he installed when I bought it from him.

Like Joe said, Jesse will ask you all the questions he needs to build you the shaft you need.
