Like it says, I'm looking for a pass. side drop NP241, in Nor. Cali. if possible. **BOUGHT ONE-THANKS FOR THE REPLIES**

Thanks all.

What year are you looking for?? One with a mechanical VSS or electronic?? For behind a standard or automatic?? Spline count?? I may have one or at least a lead for ya.

I guess that info would probably help /forums/images/icons/smile.gif Mechanical or VSS isn't an issue really. The main thing is it needs to have a passenger side drop. Its going behind a 700R4 which I'll be having built, so I guess the 27 spline input (?). I'm also interested in getting the shifter, drivehsafts, and crossmember. For sure, I'm gonna need to get one with the tranny-to-tcase adaptor. Thanks.

Boscolingus (sp?) picked up a 241C for his rig, but needs another one with a electronic VSS. Hopefully he's gonna buy mine, if the spline count works out. Mine is a 32 spline, I'm not sure what he has, but you may want to drop him a line, cause he can't use the one he has and could probably use the cash. I have a t-case shifter from a 1990 if you need one.

ok when were 241 used, and what are they exactly ? alum or iron and chain or gear and why arent they mentioned very often ? just curious.. are they tagged on backside like the other NP cases ?

Umm . . . here's what I know
89-91(?)
alum.
chain
2.74:1 ratio
came in driver and pass. side drop, pass. side drop was only in 89-91 Suburbans and K5's
That's all I know, and I could be wrong. Then again I'm new to the world of GM, so please excuse my ignorance. Hope that helps.

interesting, sopunds like another 208 to me, so howcome ppl want them ? dont sound like they are too strong either.
thanks

It basically is the 208, but with some improvements. It supposedly has helical cut gears and better bearings, seals than the 208. Just all around a little stronger. The reason I want one is for a couple of reasons. I'm putting in a 350/700R4 in my my Scout 800 and I wanted a t-case that would bolt up to the 700R4, but that I wouldn't need to get an expensive adaptor for. My choices were basically the 208 and the 241. I chose the 241 because it is a little better than the 208 (both strength and gearing) and it is cheaper to put a fixed yoke on for the rear output. The Scout belongs to my folks, so I'm not really concerned about the strength of a chain drive. It'll be just fine for them. Now when I get it . . . that's a different story. Out with the chain in with the solid gears.

I'm in Lodi, CA. Thanks for asking, it reminded me to update my profile with my location. Thanks on the 208, but I have a line on a complete 241 setup real close by, I'm going to check it out tonight. Sorry, but I'm really holding out for a 241.

i work on hummers and they have drv side drop not sure of spline count but if they can hold up to marines beating the
cr%p out of them i'm sure they are pretty strong?!?!

I have everything you need. 241c transfer case,crossmember,shifter,$500 for everything.let me know if your interested.Im close by

Thanks,Marshall /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
