Need opinion on 10K warn winch on CL

Looks beat to he'll. Id pass. But, im a noob when it comes to winches. Looks tore up though.

mehhh... it looks like one of those situations where you will have to put a crap load of $ into it to have a good winch. probably more than its worth.
i see 8274's on craigslist for $400-$500 in descent shape. thats what i would look for. just my $.02

I have that same winch on my Blazer, and I wouldn't even look at that one for the price. I paid $300 for it, and as you can see, it is in much better shape than that one. I only had to get cables and a hook for it.

Skip it or offer one crisp $100 bill only.
To craigslister that put this stuff up for sale....why don't you just order the freaking part and prove the winch still works....you'll make more $$$ and more buyers will take a look at it.
Kind of like putting trucks up for sale that ''worked 6 months ago''' or needs a muffler, or needs a tune up....

Just for kicks and giggles I texted the guy. I lowballed at $150. He seemed offended at first, saying that it was a $1400 winch new. I countered by showing the smittybilt 10K @ $400 and the Harbor Freight 9K @ ~$300, and he changed tone. His last text (at lunch today) was a counter at $175. I'm letting him stew on it. I may or may not text him back.
