Need Outer Roof Skin

Hi Everyone,
We have a 1989 K5 and I need the outer roof skin. Tried to purchase a new one that said guaranteed fit (BS) and it wont fit! The distance on my B pillar from drip edge back is 3.5 inches, the new one is 4.5 inches. Also, the roof itself is wider. What a waste of time, the money I should get back but need a skin that fits. Also, in the back where it wraps the C pillar area is wrong. Mine only wraps down 1/2 inch. Thank you for all advice and help!

There have been a couple of members patching or replacing K5 roofs recently. I thought their conclusion was that nobody offers a K5 roof and reworking a pickup one isn't worth it. You may have to patch what you have or get a roof cut-off another one. You could also do a full-top convertible conversion. I always thought a K5 only had A and B pillars.

Thank you for the reply. I was able to get the price reduced for the roof I purchased, its for a pickup no doubt. We are going to give the new roof a shot, worse case I have to find a donor but just not around that I can find. Its going to take a lot but really no other option. Wife wont go for the convertible unfortunately. Someone called the C pillar the very back where removable top bolts up, I went with it. No way am I going to try and Mig weld it so I have to learn the Tig method. Thanks again
