Does anyone know if this part is available anywhere? Its off one of the flappers in my heater. I might try the GM dealer when I get to town, but I'm guessing its fab time.

When I restored my kid's 82 I ended up JB welding it. Still holding after 3 Years. I had the dealer search but didn't find it. You may also try a JY.

I used two small metal "L" brackets, one above and below the plastic piece. Screwed them to the metal flap door and drilled a hole to put the cotter pin through all three pieces. I hope this makes sense cause I don't have any pics!

I've never taken one of these apart but I got a 77 parted outside I could steal this part off of and send it to you maybe

Thanks for the offer, but I am afraid that age might be the problem with the plastic getting brittle. I figured it would be a long shot that they might still have replacements. I will probably try to fab something.

I might try this. I was going to try to make something from scratch, but doing it this way would be much faster.

I will pull the duct off and get a pic if you need one. It was really simple, thought of it and finished in about 15 minutes! Made a huge difference when I switch from vent, floor and defrost...like new!!
