I just searched through the part numbers post and I don't see any listing for the chevy d60 calipers, backing plates and spindles. I want to check through GMpartsdirect before buying anywhere else, mainly for the lowest price.

In my high-pinion 60 thread, I mentioned that I ordered the ATOR brake kit from offroad overstock only to learn that it is a discontinued item. They returned my funds so here I am, still looking around.

Anybody got numbers for these parts?

Won't be home for a bunch of hours, but if no one comes up with anything, I can check my parts manual tonight.

Thanks Dorian. I'm surprised no one else has part numbers on these already.

Don't know why I never think to check my own pages:
http://dyeager535.topcities.com/partsmanual.html

Picture was taking awhile to display, but I see the caliper has an item number associated with it there.

OK, doublechecked my link, not necessarily a good sign. Listed only by the group number, which means there are more than likely at least two different part numbers for the same component, and I have to research in the "other" manual that breaks the groups down. Were there different GM brake options (front) for the D60, or was there a change between '85-88?

Dorian, take your time. I knew it wouldn't be easy to find because I've been searching all night yesterday.

EDIT:

I don't think it really matters but I'm doing chevy outers swap on the '79 ford 60.

I ordered the hubs and rotors # 15635530 at GMpartsdirect last night.... I hope I'm getting the correct part numbers for the calipers, backing plates and spindles to fit these hubs.

I hate "guessing" on these things. '85-88, C/K/R/V3 (all one tons) LH "Housing, w/clpr, frt" 14002543
RH 14002544

$183 at the time this was printed.

Thats an educated guess. All 1/2 and 3/4 calipers are described as "caliper, frt brk" so I have to assume that the only things listed for the one tons in the same group (solely brakes) are the right piece. Just not sure why GM didn't describe them the same.

Also, just FYI, there are a bunch of one ton specific "small" parts in the same category...screws, springs, and keys.

Also, "bracket, frt brk calpr mtg (dana)" is/are 462823/462824 LH/RH respectively.

Thanks. I'll run those numbers with the vendors' (NAPA, GM, AutoZone, etc) inventories and see if it helps. I made printouts from your own pages, just in case.

Did some searching, none of these auto stores have the numbers posted to cross reference to another part number. Auto Zone doesn't even have the calipers anymore, they have to make a warehouse transfer order out of state.

Thinking about getting 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton calipers and have a friend fab up mounting brackets for the D60. I don't think neither caliper will make a difference, they're both the same anyway, those who converted 1/2 tons to 3/4 tons would know.
I don't think the D60 caliper piston is that much larger than a half ton caliper.

thanks for the part numbers, guys.

Ahh crap.

I re-read my last post and it didn't make sense so I posted again to clarify it. I'm tired and I wasn't thinking clearly. Had a long weekend of moving into a house with my boys.

Anyway I meant to say that I'll get the 3/4 ton HD calipers off the newer trucks and fab some brackets for them to fit on the D60.
