I hit a tree in a tunnel of trees while trying to clear my driver rear tire around a concrete slab that supports a train bridge. So passenger side fender got bashed but the hood and core support is fine. I had to pull up on the hood hard to get that darn latch to release. So I got some daystar hood pins and I've been scratching my head on best place to drill and bolt them on.

Anybody got pics of them under the hood?

Buddy of mine has hood pins on his 76 K10, I'll see If I can get a picture at some point.

anywhere near the factory hood adjustment stops on the cowl will work fine. I think it ends up around 5 inches from side edge of the hood and inline with the hood emblem just before the hood curves. keep the pins near the adjuster so you can level the hood with the pins in and it wont wobble. hood wobble will drive you insane

Ok thanks I will take another look at it. I grabbed my junkyard fenders from storage to replace both sides. Although the core support is intact, it still got pushed back an inch from the tree limb impact. So I will swap the fenders out and get everything to line up square before drilling holes. This is the 3rd time I had trouble with the cable latch so I'm done dealing with it.

And as a precaution, I yanked out my chainsaw and cut that entire limb down.

I'll report back on my progress this weekend.

My pins are near the hood adjusters. I drilled a hole in the back of the core support to access the pin's nuts and washers from below in the boxed in area of the support.
