I would say go with the .045 and see how it runs. With the better coil that much of a gap should not be a problem. As for emissions a wider gap will help the fuel burn better giving you a better chance to pass

Thanks, thats what I was thinking too. I failed Hydrocarbons. Figured a little tuneup (oil,O2,filters,plugs,wires,HV coil/cap/rotor,new cat conv, resetting timing) might make it pass this round.
