Mike, any update on this? Do you want that other rear end? Instead of getting it to you saturday night it's looks like it would have to be monday afternoon though. Let me know if you need it or not since I can only access it until tomorrow afternoon.

Yeah Wes...I e-mailed you. Looks like I am going to need a new 208. My guy at Off Road Enterprises told me that since I couldn't get the truck to move at all in 4 hi, the xfer case went out. Hope you didn't go out of your way to get that 3.08. I should have been more specific when I first described the problem to the board.

I found a used 208 for $350 with a six month warranty...

Update...

Thanks to BadK, Tunder, Ressurected Jimmy And K5 dreamer!!

You all got me and my son thinking about what made my Blazer just drop out of drive the way it did. As I stated in one of my posts to Big Easy, the truck would not roll in 4-hi, or 2wd...only 4-lo. Bingo...x-fer case was shot.

You should have seen the pretty metallic flakes reflecting in the sun when I drained the 208. Then there was this clunking sound the case made every revolution when it was on the garage floor. It now sits on my shelf waiting for a rebuild. Offroad Enterprises (those guys are good) will build me a new 208 for $695.00. (Worst case)

I now know, however, by listening to you guys here my drive train needs some serious upgrades, since I plan to keep my one and only "toy". My govlock (when it goes) will be replaced with 14 bolt, and my 700r4 (when it goes) will be rebuilt with the upgrades mentioned on these threads.

While I was under the Blazer, I dropped the 700r4 pan and changed the filter and gasket. All looked good there, so maybe it will last for a while. The 208 I picked up for $300.00 used with a 30 day warranty.

So I am good to go for now!!
