I'm looking to buy a set of seats from an 87 Blazer within the hour but want to know if they'll bolt right up to my 82 Blazer...... do they have the same bolt spacing?? I think they do but want to make sure. Thanks in advance.

Thanks bro. Just wanted assurance before I bought these and maybe didn't know something might be different. Thanks again.

Floor pans should differ between 73-80 trucks and 81-91. They might not though Im not blazer guru. I do know that the floors between trucks and blazers/burbs are totally different from the saddle tanks but I dont know if the seats are actually different.

The Blazer floorpan changed in '78, that is, 73-77 floors / seats are different than 78+.

I can't speak as to whether Burb or pickup seats would fit a Blazer of similar year, not having owned enough of them. My first guess is to say that the floor pans between each of the three types (Blazer, Burb, pickemup), so the seat *brackets* at least will differ, if not the actual seats.

However, I would suspect that in your instance you should be okay. You can verify this with a quick check with the measuring tape and, as we say, the "visual inspection" -- look at your truck, look at the other seats.

'86 up are different, they sit on seat towers and the pass is a fold and slide seat. The pre-86 the pass side has a hook that engages the floor. You can make the '87 seats work, but I wouldn't say they're a bolt in, or that the floors are 100% the same.

This is what the '86 up seats and bases look like, the driver's is the same except it doesn't slide forward.

Yeah, thanks, Rene. I bought the seats because they are way better condition than the old ones I had that came in 82. I got them for $50 for the pair. What do I have to do to bolt them to the floor since they don't use the existing 82 bolt locations???

The bracketry should unbolt from the bottom of the seats; you may be able to mix and match the two sets to find something that works.

Im pretty sure the bracketry doesnt interchange. I too, bought a set of nice 87 seats for 50, but to go into my 86. I took some rough measurements and they didnt line up. I like the 87+ seats better than the 86 older but havent had the time to make them work yet.

Well I guess we'll both have to figure something out because these 87 seats are WAY nicer.

Doesn't it suck? Mine were mint, more comfy, but sadly wouldnt interchange. One of these days im going to look more into it.

The '87 up seats are pretty easy to retrofit, the seat bases only require a flat floor. Other than that it's drilling 4 holes in the floor and bolting them down. The sucky part is usually the cat convertor heat shield blocks easy access to the bolts coming through.

More ideal would be nut-serts in the floor...

Take the time to measure seat location of the old seats before plopping down the new ones. You'd hate to not have them centered properly. if you want I can grab a few quick measurements off my 90.
