It’s about 80% there, but still a lot of work to do. I’ve got it In my head that I “need” a deep transmission pan for the thm350. Bought one and installed it. Boy it sure is close to the drive shaft. Anyone have any experience with a deep trans pan on a K5 I’m using the B&M 30280. I can’t fit a finger between the drive shaft and the pan. This pic is with the Blazer wheels on the ground. Any advice and/or whatever would be appreciated. Thanks

I would swap back to a standard depth pan, and use a decent auxiliary cooler.
I would almost guarantee that you will have problems if you leave it as is.

Do you have a build thread that we can check out?

Hey, thanks. I was thinking the same thing. No, I never started a build thread, but will definitely try and be more active on the forum, going forward. I may have been a little optimistic when I said 80% there. Here’s where I’m currently at. Need to plumb, wire and finish some body work, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

So what have you done to it so far? Do you have a picture of what it looked like before you started?

I like the '72s. Even though I get grief from @Bent77 for killing one that I bought from him.

Looks pretty rust free. That’s like gold for a first gen

Yes. I’ve replaced some metal. Floors, rocker panels/boxes. A cab support, or two. The windshield frame is a little sketchy, but I think it’s workable. Need to replace radiator support and inner/outer fenders. Plus all the miscellaneous brackets and hardware to hang the front clip. The frame is from a donor. The blazer looked like it took a pretty good hit somewhere along the line. The passenger side rear frame rail was welded in multiple places. No bueno. I’ve got most of the parts to complete. Just need to keep at it.

Well, I’ve had to replace the frame due to a previous accident. Replaced floors and rockers, some cab mounts. Rebuilt engine, trans and transfer case a few years ago. Pretty stock, nothing special. Swapped in a 14b in the rear and an 8bolt d44 up front. Cross over steering. Probably rethink the d44, though. 4:10s, 6”lift and 4 wheel disk brakes. ORD or Diy4x(Don’t remember which) engine cross member with the upgraded engine mounts. I may have some photos on my laptop, but none on my phone. Seems I loose pictures every time I get a new phone. Like most, I’m sure, this all started because if a rusted out battery box. One thing led to another and it’s amazing how fast you can tear them apart!! I need to find a new top for it. Kids used it as a trampoline, split right down the middle. Family and job can really put the skids on a project. Kids are grown and the job isn’t as demanding as it once was, so I have no excuses.
