Need some battery electrical help

Well replaced the battery and battery cables and the ignition wires and fuses. Now for the iritating part. My starter was covered in oil and crud from oil leaks that I need to fix still so I figured I'ld just replace it while I'm down there. Well it turns out to ba a Tilton mini starter. (Yeah Buddy!)So I figure okay I'll buy a chepie reman and have this one rebuilt later, but it appears that the mounting bolts on the starter that is supposed to be on the engine has an offset mounting and my block while it has the offset whole it has no threads and is a dead end hole, too shallow for a bolt and too big for it as well. So either something really odd is up with the block or there is a bolt broken off in the offset hole. The Tilton uses the strait mounting holes and the parts stores can't find a starter that will match the bolt holes and fit with the flywheel stil on. So Monday its off to the starter rebuild shop to have the Tilton rebuilt. Sorry about the ramble just been a frustrating day. Aarrgg!!
