305 heads on 350 bump up the compression, not a bad thing unless they have the small valves. They are late light weight castings, no notation of cracking.
I really don't have any memories of them, but i am sure I've worked on engine equipped with them.

Oh, and that carb looks nice and flat at the seam to the bowl and air horn. Be careful when you tighten those front bolts don't over do it. It over tightened the air horn and bowl will deform and have crazy issues from running poorly to leaking fuel.

Run block casting # on bellhousing driverside near head / deck surface. 305 is its block and not shared with 350
So I guess this is a 350?

Should I leave the heads on it though? Curious to know what the compression is then.

how does/did it run, or do you not know ? i expect with those heads and stock 350 dish pistons you'll be 9.5-9.8 to 1 compression

I do not know if that 350 block, which I suspect is a crate motor, would have come with 801 heads. I think not. Slapping 305 heads on a 350 is quick easy way to up the compression. This says to me someone did some work to the engine. The heads look really clean, either not much run time or very good maintenance.
If you are going to pull the intake, you could examine the cam lobes and bottoms of lifters. If you do, keep the lifters and cam lobes matched. Do not mix.
Maybe a reseal of pan and timing cover, while doing so check cam end for markings.

It’s possible the last owner just bought a short block and transferred everything over to the new block. It has a 305 “055” intake on it.
