Ive got a 82 3/4ton with a 6.2 and Im new to the whole diesel world. Well the truck has acted up to where I thought I wasn't getting home 3 different times, what it has done is acted like it isn't getting any fuel. Takes alot of cranking before it will finally start.
Also it smokes white on start up for about 2 or 3 mins then clears up. It also has a mind of its own sometimes, it will rev up when its sitting idling or when it is warming up it will idle up and down but not constantly just every little bit. When it finally idles down off the high idle, it drops off idle to where it almost dies and picks back up to normal idle and will idle just fine till it wants to rev up own its own.
Sorry for the long post but this the last thing, when driving it and I get on the loud pedal it will sometimes take off own its own and I have to push in the clutch and let it do its thing for a minute, then it goes back to normal.
