Hey guys I found a guy selling an early 80's to late 70s 3/4 ton truck with a 400sb bored .030 to a 406. I want to take the axles and engine out and put them in my truck ( a 1982 K5 with a 305 and 1/2 tons). I know the engine will bolt right up. But what will i need to do to the axles to get them to bolt up? Like longer/different u-bolts or different or Brake lines. Any help would be great guys.
Ive already looked up and searched on here and google and ive found people doing the same thing....but with different axles or they just are not quite doing the same thing.
So please none of the "Just google it"
I just need some help.

front axle swap = easy bolt in. and stock calipers now will prob flop on doner axle no blead out just un bolt and hang and reinstall when axle swaped.

rear = basic bolt in. get the spring u-bolt plates wider hole spacing than stock 1/2 ton stuff. just undo the hard brake lines from tee fitting in hose . then unbolt hose from axle. bolt on new axle and hooke lines up and blead out .

conversion u-joint for drive shaft on rear shaft at rear joint for 1/2 ton to 1350 size u-joint for 3/4 ton-1ton .

other wise its basic bolt ins. and fyi get new ubolts dont reuse them . its not good to.

3/4 ton stuff is a strait up bolt in deal, you gain no added strength in the front axle though, same axle, different hubs/rotors.
