I did a search and did not find exactly what I am looking for.

I have a 79 k20 with the wiper switch on the dash, I have low and high position.

To get intermittent wiper all I need do is change the switch and add a delay module, there should be an extra plug somewhere under the dash for this.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

Currently only low speed works and I need to get this squared away before winter.

No extra plug as I recall. You disconnect the current plug from the back of the switch in the truck now, it plugs into the delay module, the delay module plugs into the delay wiper switch, done!

I've dealt mainly with the '81+, but I have a feeling they are the same as most if not all of the earlier trucks.

I am not aware of a factory delay arrangement for the 70's trucks.

For both my '74's and my '77 I had to get an aftermarket delay unit. These units are difficult to come by any more: I seem to recall ordering from JC Whitney, but the local parts stores don't carry them any more as all vehicles have had these for so many years.

In your case, the switch may or may not be the problem; I would suspect the motor unit (which thankfully are available, last I checked.)

I like what other guy said better.

Somewhere in my eight page search someone said 7x-77 was different than 78-83, 78+ being able to accept the new switch and module.

Gonna call napa and see.

Just check out LMC's catalog, they probably show it.

I remember putting the newer style delay into a 1980 or older truck, because my buddy had to hack up the dash bezel to make it fit, since they are shaped different. And I'm certain I've seen delay in the old bezels, factory.

As a matter of fact, intermittent wipers are listed on page 7 of somebodies page that has a 1978 Blazer brochure. ;)

This link work? http://brochures.slosh.com/1978/blazer7.jpg

Link works. Lmc lists the switch for 78-83 but not the module. Napa can get the switch but I heard heard back about the module.

If there are any of these trucks in the wrecking yards out your way, I'd visit and see if they have any trucks that vintage.

I've never really messed with the cars that had the same style wiper switches, they might be an option for the delay module?
