Im trying to get my vortec 350 stabbed back in my 97 k1500, i had the machine shop rebuild my engine because i spun a rod bearing in the mud. To make a long story short. i have my engine ready to back in, but i dropped my oil filter adapter off at the machine shop, and the guy there that cleans and washes parts all day ended up sand blasting my filter adapter :doah:. Im scared to use it now. They assured me they cleaned it really good, but i dont trust putting it on my newly rebuilt engine all it would take is one glass bead to wipe out my bearings.

I have an 1988 engine and a 69-79 engine what are my options other than going to the junk yard or dealer ship and getting another adapter, can i make something work from the other engines

junk yard or dealer safe play . dont need 5 doller part to screw $$$ motor job.

and did thay use the correct parts to make the older block match up to the 97 needs if still running fuel injection ?

yes we stamped my initials on the heads and block, it was just a stock rebuild on a 1997 vortec 350, i keeping the fuel injection and every thing its going right back in my 97 k1500. i received back my exact same engine that i dropped off. the problem is that i dropped off my oil filter adapter and valve covers for them to clean and the guy that washes all the parts didnt know better than to sand blast the filter adapter.the shop assured me that it would be fine that they got it really clean and it was just glass beads that was used, and that they got it clean clean clean lol

I just pulled the filter adapter off a extra engine i have that has just been sitting in my garage its a 1988 tbi engine. The vortec adapter puts the filter at a 90 degere angle the adapter i just took of the tbi engine has the filter screw on verticle. does any body know if i would have clearance issues if i use the verticle adapter. my stock vortec adapter has plugs in it for oil cooler lines my truck never had an oil cooler.

if 4x4 can come in contact with tcase to diff shaft.

but thay do have shorter filters for tight clearnece needs .

This would be a great time to add a remote filter/oil cooler...........
