I did a search but to no avail...

If someone would be kind enough to take some pics of their TBI vapor canister I would really appreciate it. My vacuum hose sticker on the core support is hard to read since it's all gummed up. I have a rough idea of where my purge hose connects but I'd like to be 100%.

Facing the truck, on the right side of the canister, I have a round doo-hickey with 2 vacuum ports. The bottom one is fixed and has PCV marked on it but the top one spins. I believe the top port is for my purge hose but I need to be sure so that's where the pics come in.

Thank you for any help.

I don't have pics but the round do hickey , I believe thats the vacuum canister for the cruise control/heat controls. Its used for a reserve when you do not have ideal vacuum from the engine.

Thank you 535, those pics helped a lot! :waytogo: I've been noticing that my vacuum lines were not looking right after looking at them closely this morning. About 3 years ago, I hooked up my vapor canister and left it. I was looking at the lines today and a light bulb came on and I realized that I hooked up the purge line to the PCV port on the canister. :doah:

I've been fighting a surging idle for about roughly the same amount of time, and it's been a total mystery. I'm hoping that it was just that I had that ported vacuum purge line hooked up wrong causing my idle issues. If not, well it's back to the drawing board.

It's amazing how blind a person can become when a boo boo is staring them right in the face.

I have a pic of my 88's Vacuum Hose Routing sticker:

I don't think it's for high altitude though.
