I've had a couple of times where the vehicle accelerates on its own. The first time it occurred I was on cruise control at 50mph. Without touching any of the pedals the rpms and speed increased for about 2 seconds and then backed off. I thought this may be a cruise control problem so I shut it off. The next day I was stopped at a red light with my foot on the brake. When the light turned green I lifted my foot off the brake and the vehicle accelerated quickly - again for only 2-3 seconds and backed off again. What is going on. Is it some short in the cruise control wiring? Please help.

The 6.5L diesel trucks are all drive by wire except for the first year with the mechanical injection system on it. I'd suspect something might be up with the go pedal...

My father actually made that post under my name. He just recently did the PMD relocator fix. These 6.5L are notorious for failing PMD on the Injector pumps. I've been doing some google searching and I'm wondering now if its the injection pump again.

I found this post referencing the "Armature" on the injection pump. I'm not sure exactly what that means yet.

I'll probably do some more posting on these diesel specific sites.
