I have been buying/parting out vehicles for a couple years now using craigslist and ebay and it has done pretty good. My problem is that my partner is moving and the trailer we have been using is his. So I am going to have to get a trailer of my own to use. I am just not sure what kind to look for. I am looking for a used trailer, just can't spend the dough on a new one right now. I am looking for that can easily handle a crewcab in length and weight. I will be pulling it with a 1 ton, either reg cab long bed or crewcab, with 6.2. I know the bumper pull car haulers are cheaper and would probably do fine but I really like the idea of having a gooseneck and maybe be able to haul two at a time. Any recommendations on what to look for? Oh and I will definately need a good winch to mount to the trailer. What type should I look for? What we have been using is a 18ft with 2ft dovetail bumper pull with a harbor freight winch. It has done a great job but I would like to look at something with a little more capability.

Still looking for input? If I were you I would find a wedge trlr on ebay or CL they are plentiful & cheap and you can probably find one with a winch & all the tie down gear big enough to haul 2 pickups or 3 cars in the $2,500 to $3,000 range.

Decided to look for a gooseneck in the 25-40ft range. I plan to be able to use it as sort of an all around utility trailer when not hauling cars.
