Need someone to machine a part for me.

My vise broke and I can't get a replacement part for it from the manuf.
Here it is. PM me a price. I can also mail the broken to piece to you.

Looks like cast. Doesnt weld very well i beleive.

Brazing may not be strong enough for a vise part... Idk.

There are brazed joints on submarines that see test depth.

Cast it is and it didn't hold up very well to begin with. The rest of the vise is pretty decent and can take a beating.

It's part of the locking collar under the vise.

I have a buddy who is a CNC machinist and could make that part for you. I have no idea on what he would charge but I can't see it being too expensive. I could save the pic and e-mail it to him to look at if you'd like and see what he says.

If I had all the dimensions I could draw it in inventor and ask my teacher if there's a way I could put it in mastercam and get the code for it to be run and send it out to someone... Idk for sure though, don't have that class again till next we'd cuz of mlkj day Monday. Too bad I didn't see this before 9 tonight and I could have asked him. I don't think any of our cnc machines are set up for steel cutting like that. All haas machines for plastic and softer metals I believe.
