During a rebuild of my FPR & injectors, I found the washers to the fuel line connections were destroyed. Where can I get another set. Checked all auto part stores in my area. The dealer was closed. Can I use another type of material? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hate to say it, but GM did not sell that part separately according to the parts manual.

It was included in a kit that also includes the fittings, injector filters, etc. Likely too costly for what you need, if they even sell something like that today.

Look for a TBI gasket kit, or a TBI injector gasket/filter kit, something along those lines. Also, check ebay for vendors selling TBI gaskets and/or rebuild kits, and ask them. The gaskets themselves are obviously available, it's just a matter of finding them without having to buy a complete kit.

They appear to be teflon to me, but they are pretty darn thin. They'd be hard to make without a proper punch set. IIRC they are pretty darn small diameter flat white seals. Someone can confirm...may help you identify them looking at kit or gasket pictures. AFAIK they weren't used on any other GM product (that wasn't TBI).

Unsolicited advice, but I'd not be too set on running a fuel pressure gauge unless you absolutely need to monitor it all the time...if that worried, carry it as a trail tool. They are easier to run off the fuel line at the fuel filter for diagnosis or pressure setting of an adjustable regulator. But that's me...I know plenty like their fuel pressure gauge.

As another unsolicited factoid, the horrible electronic mystery known as the throttle body has about 1/3 the parts of a quadrajet. The things you notice in the parts manuals... :)

Those sealing washers come in an injector pod seal kit. I may even have a handful of them somewhere as I bought 10 seal kits from a guy on e-bay years ago when I was doing alot of TBI repair.

AC Delco 219-607 is a complete TBI seal kit that has ALL the required gaskets and seals to completely rebuild the TBI unit.

I have mine mounted on the cowl like an old tach from the 60s, and it has came in very handy. Diagnosing a no start condition is as easy as looking at that gauge, if it has 15psi, i have a spark problem.

Thx for all the help. I wound up buying the kit to get it done but it didn't help the problem. I think I have a timing issue as well. Truck will start after long cranking. Then it will run crappy until warm. Once. Warm, it will idle ok but In park it will rev all the way up to redline. In drive it acts like a cylinder is dead. All new plugs awesome wires, and new dist cap and rotor. Then once I quit, it won't restart at all. I'm thinking I have a timing issue or the fuel pickup tube fell off the pump. I can hear the pump run when the key is in run. New fuel filter as well. I gonna time it again when I can get to it this week. Lots of honey do list stuff to get done first.

Long crank is usually air flow and fuel. TBI is very sensitive to fuel pressure. Fuel would explain your rev problem, timing would not. Without fuel and air it can't rev. I would verify fuel pressure and sensor operation. Check TPS for proper voltage with throttle shut and key on, 0.5ish. If you could hook up a scanner and verify everything else. An ECM being in LIMP would cause issues as well. Is there a check engine light on or fast flash of the light?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Remove and plug the line going to the brake booster.

UPDATE!

The hose going from the fuel pump to the hard line exiting the tank disintegrated due to the fuel. It was only the fibers left from the rubber hose. I took the opportunity to replace everything and it all works awesome! And bending stainless steel lines at the back of the TBI for a fuel pressure guage SUCKS! I d not recommend it. Thank you all for your help! My FRANKENBLAZER. Is no longer a yard ornament! I gonna go and change my signature now........AND go play!
