i believe this is an older fiat jack:

This is for a non-automotive type project. i need a jack where the lifting "toe" is not in line with the foot of the jack. Pretty much the same idea as a hi-lift jack. But i can't really use a hi-lift because it's too big heavy for my application.

Do you know of any such car jacks?

Don't care which brand besides ford and mopar, but will consider them.

I might still have mine from my mgb roadster.
If I find it, it's yours for the shipping

Could you just get whatever weight rating of side handle trailer jack you need and weld the kind of "toe" you need to the side of it?

That toe needs to be really strong, they're usually a one piece forged or cast.
I don't think you want to but weld a toe like that on sheet metal body like this Jack

i guess the other natural question is what years did they use these jacks; i'm seeing as early as 50's (VW) to as late as 85 (mercedes). Cos this way i could just go to my local pick-a-part salvage yard, and i'm sure i'll find something.

The problem is knowing which brands use this type and when and which models? For example, i know fiat used that type in 70's-ish. The problem is you can't (or at least i can't) a fiat of that vintage in a salvage yard.

So, this could be a project for someone with free time:

Research the complete history of this type of jack, and which exact brands and models did they come with......and then you could probably do a wiki article on it as well....

i promi$e i will make it worth your while.

You can't fit a bottle jack underneath whatever it is you're trying to lift?

No, really the "toe" has to be offset from the foot of the jack. To be specific, i'm trying to lift pallets a few inches--like up to 6-7" so i can fit a furniture dolly underneath. This will be done repeatedly and we're talking 600-700lbs.

P.S.
i'm not trying to be secretive, it's just that i like to give a little info at a time so as not to jinx the project and/or come across as a b.s.'er if things don't work out.

So, hi-lift jacks and that big pry-bar thing won't really work----even though they would do an excellent job.

Could you wrap a chain or strap around the pallet and then use a regular car bumper jack or hi-lift to lift up on the chain ?..
I assume there isn't enough room for a pallet jack ?..

i've considered that, but too bulky, cumbersome etc. No big deal, i will probably do 'Bay.
