I am attempting to get the my motor started today...

But I forgot which leads go to where.

So where to the negative leads go too?? there's a fatter gauge wire, and a thinner gauge. I just don't remember where they go.

Actually I never knew where they went in the first place. My brother disconnected the electrical, while I took apart everything else... And now he is M.I.A.....

That's the last time I let somebody work with me...

It's an 89 sub, with TBI, thanks guys.

WEll if it's anything like mine the big ground goes to the alternator bracket and the small goes to the body??? i'm not sure but i think i'm missing something....

EDIT: the body ground went to the radiator support

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. I just didn't know if one went to the chassis or not. Thanks man, this was the only thing holding me back from starting the focker, hahaha.

WEll there are some that went to the chassis too i believe. But i always just run them to the alternator bracket with that bolt on top. I think there was one i took apart that went to the chassis though. Not sure it makes a difference

Hey, HEY!

Stop confusing me!:haha:
WEll you have TBI and i have carb so there may be a reason it might go to the chassis. I wouldn't think it'd make a difference but it might. I'd just go to the alt. bracket and call it good ;)

sorry for the confusion hahaha

sometimes the rubber motor mount will isolate the chasis, so they ground the body also...most of mine have been on the inside of fender or radiator support...frame ground is really unnessary since engine and body are mounted on rubber........ground to alt bracket and rad support as stated.....if you get ignition noise in radio, ground from engine to body also

okay, thanks guys!

I didn't know about the radio interferance thing. BUt that is a good thing to know.

I didn't end up starting it anyways.... I forgot I have no steering pump, and I have a serp setup, and I didn't want to drain my battery.

I'll wait till monday to do it. BUt again, thanks fellas.
