As I posted in my other thread, the A/C Blend door vacuum line broke in the engine bay. I want to replace this line with soft line. Now the problem.

It hits the firewall as hardline, but on the other side, its soft line.

What is in between?

Is there a "void" that it passes thru or is it just on the other side of firewall from each other?

Im guessing there is a sleeve that the hardline goes into, is this sleeve the actual grommet for firewall?

Thanks in advance......

LoL..someone has to know. looks like from the passenger compartment, it goes thru the firewall up high, almost into the cowling. Can anyone confirm this? But what is weird is, where it goes from pass. compartment out to engine bay is way off, its not straight thru, its lower on the engine compartment side.

can look at mine tomorrow when i pull the heater core out, would do it today but its 22deg
and snowing.

Thanks. I know its hard plastic at the engine bay side and soft vacuum line from the pass. compartment side, there has to be a junction/splice somewhere between the 2 points, lol.

there is a valve on the ac box that has one there is one on the back that gets on and the rest you can see i hope, sorry for the crappy phone pics.

at least the new core i put in was aluminum, they stoped selling the brass ones
something about part change.

Thanks. I am interested in the part where the hose hits the firewall and goes thru the cowling and then onto the engine compartment.

From passenger side inside, it is very high up but in the engine compartment, its a lot lower, so im guessing there is something thru the cowling. Im interested in whether there is more connections in the cowling or what not.

mine goes strait threw the firewall to the ball ill take another pic give me a minute

first is the feed from the firewall
the second hooks to a source on the intake manifold

that ball has two feeds inline you cant see from the pics but thats were the one from the firewall hooks in the back, the front is to the manifold, on mine anyway

What year is your truck? Mine is '84, im thinking they are different when it comes to this. Once mine comes out of the firewall it hits what looks like a lil filter and then T's into other lines, etc.
