Need to test articulation

on the crapper...
Here is my idea for testing articulation - I have access to a two post frame lift. Put a tire on the pad of one arm on one side of the lift and raise it on up. I might need to ratchet strap the wheel/axle to the arm to keep it from falling off the pad. What I am worried about is the uneven load on the lift. Has anybody tried something like this? I'd hate to brake the lift almost as much as I would hate to drop my K5 on my head.

Only other option I can come up with on the cheap is to go find a good loading ramp or something. Ideas?

I have seen people do that before, actually several of them were members here. But seems to me that it cant be good idea to load the lift unevenly

or even tree stumps..

damn I miss all of my old rigs..

Fork lift was my second choice, but I'd need to get a buddy who is certified to do it or the wherehouse people would get grumpy.

I think that one pic with the yellow truck (looks like a Toy) was more of a front bumper test than articulation test, yikes!

Cherry picker aka engine hoist and some chain:

Though I think MNorby's post (heh heh, post, get it?) is the only useful one thus far... :D

Mnorby, I did't think of wedging the tire between the arms - that's a good idea. It balances the lift.... on one side anyway.

Dremu, where is that chain attached? Is it a real short piece right to the wheel? Going thru the holes in the wheel, or somehow attached to the hub?

This is how I tested mine on a two post lift, but it was the old inground ones.
Just line the tire up with one post and lift it on up ;)

Rock, hmm. I'm not familiar with that term. I guess I should go ahead and get one. Price and shipping to 90210 please.
