Much happier with my 91 Blazer over my previous 98 Tahoe. One thing I've been missing was the Rearview Mirror with Compass, Temp, and Auto-Dimming.

So I ordered a used one off eBay, but the thing has about a half-dozen wires. I'm no electronics guy, and have not found anything concusive online as per the correct wiring.

If anyone knows where I might find which wires go where, that would be great!

Thanks,
Mat

ive seen a few articles about the power mirrors on fullsizechevy.com in the interior forum, sounds like its just a matter of running a power wire and buying the temp sensor from gm and running that wire also from somewhere in your front grill.

Thanks! A quick search over there yielded exactly what I am looking for:

For the 7-pin Gentex mirror:

Pin 1 PINK POWER +12 volts switched
Pin 2 BK CHASSIS, GND
Pin 3 LT GRN BACKUP LIGHTS
Pin 4 GY TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR
Pin 5 PINK TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR
Pin 6 DR GRN/WT TEMP PROBE
Pin 7 BK/WT TEMP PROBE

Writeup Pending

Happy to do a write-up. I'm a notorious procrastinator, so let's all plan on it being done by Christmas.

Next year

No, really, I'll keep the parts list and snap some pics as I go. Happy to help back!

Subscribed for future reference information.

I am curious about the two wires you have marked as auto dim outside mirror, pins 4 and 5. I don't think I quite understand, unless the outside mirrors on the newer trucks dim as well.
