well not really tranny problem but torque converter...i just put a new engine and tranny in my truck, along with a new TC. my friend said i should have put fluid in the torque converter before i bolted it all up...(hes about a week late with that advice) but i read before i put it in and didnt see anything about, a guy i no said the tranny pump will throw it all in there is this true? another said i could fry it from being dry. if thats so...anyways i could crank my engine or do something to get fluid from the tranny into my TC?

the TC will fill once the pump in the transmission is pumping just will take a long time to get the tranny to fill to the required refill.. meaning youll have to add a fair amount of oil before you see any on the stick, but that said its never good to have any moving/friction part run with no lubrication but im pretty sure youll be fine ive seen it done without not recommended BUT it should not blow up or anything.. hope that helps you my friend

It is not a recommended way of doing it, but it can be done. The problem is that you have moving parts within the TC that are not lubricated, and take a lot of fluid. It can seriously reduce the life of the TC by not filling it before installation. Not saying it can't be done, but you may want to consider pulling it and filling it for maximum life. It will also suck the fluid out of the transmission very fast, so the first time you start the truck you are pretty much going to want a funnel in the filler with plenty of fluid ready to go.

thank you guys very much:bow: i guessing im gonna do that route...if the torque converter doesnt last as long, thats ok, cuz, its a 400hp small block with a new,but stock 700r4 behind it...it will be replaced im sure, but thanks again guys!! ill be sure to post up pics when shes done!
