Ok guys on my 97 suburban I changed the transmission filter today and after I was all done I took it out for a spin and engine light came on put scanner and came up with p1860. Can you guys help its only code that came up on my 99 I remember changing the shift solenoid just dont remember what code it gave me when I did. It is a 16 bolt 4L60/E trans. It also dosent seem to be shifting like my 99 any help would be appreciated thanks. Oh its a 4x4 also.

Just went through this on my truck, it was the tcc valve in the valve body. The steel valve wears out the aluminum bore and allows fluid to seep past which causes the converter to slip or not lockup. I installed a transgo kit sk4l60e which fixed that problem and several others. Kit was about $50 and was actually pretty simple to install, I've never taken a trans pan off before and had no problem installing the kit.

Transmission in vehicle. It is sold as a shift kit, but really is a problem corrector kit. Shifts had a minimal change. Just had to drop the pan, pull the valve body and all the work is in the vb, changing some springs and valves and such. Transgo also sells a more involved shift kit that fixes the problems and changes the shifts too.
