Was looking for bellview info on the web as I just installed one on my K5 . Just to refresh memories , the bellview is the predecessor to the 8274 that does not power out . Works fine when winching in , disengage the gear to unspool and it will unspool a little then stop . No matter how hard I pull , no more line will come out . Hook it up to something , push in the clutch on the truck and just the weight of the truck rolling back unspools it no problem . Thought the cable being all spooled in a messy way was the culprit , unspooled it completely , wound it in and still can't pull cable by hand . Pulls out a little then seems to bind . Reel it in a bit then unspools a little more . Eventually just will not pull out at all by hand .
Need help on this one as this winch works well otherwise but is totally useless if it won't pull out as it has no power out option . Thanks

It was "Bellevue", IIRC, which may help your googling.

I thought they had a brake shoe, which would 'splain the behaviour; the lever mechanism may be gummed or the shoe lining may have bonded to the winch =))

Some pages that may help you sort out what's inside...

Thanks guys for the sites , already been there and checked them all out before . Was hoping someone had "been there done that" before and had a quick solution rather than having to rip completely into it . Was hoping for a quick or easy fix possibly , like did you check to see if the breaker was on ? Duhhhh LOL :D
