I Have A 78 Blazer. I Have A Rebuilt 14 Bolt Rear. It Has A Detroit Locker With 5.13 Gears. I Am Having A Lot Of Trouble Finding A Dana 60 Front. I Have An Opportunity To Get A Dana 44 Front With 8 Lugs On It. Is This Something That I Should Go For, Or Should I Hold Out On The Dana 60.
Thanks.

I Think You Should Hold Out For What You Really Want. No Sense In Wasting Money On Something That Will Be Swapped Out Later, I`ve Done That Too Many Times:crazy:

Is your front axle already 8 lug? if not and you could get the D44 real cheap (under 100.00) then pick it up and swap the outers onto your front axle assuming you have the matching gears in your front axle now. You can always sell an 8 lug front later for 100-200 to recoop your cash.

if its a mud truck i see a 44 handling it, but if its a trail truck, spring for a 60; as it will be less headaches down the road

If you have beadlocks then tire failure isn't as likely. Sux carrying two spares- one 6 lug and one 8 lug. If it looks like you won;t hav ethe cassh for a 60 for quite awhile then I'd do the 8 lug outter swap.

A little off topic but I would carry a spare with no wheel and a couple tire spoons long before I would consider carrying two spares.
