I am going to try to build my own aluminum frame and have the canvas made up for me. What I need is close up pictures of the Skyler frame over the cab, down the bedsides, and across the tailgate. Google images isn't giving me what I need. I know SOMEONE here must have a working installed Skyler top. Much appreciated.

I've never even heard of them?

Is it similar to the soft top just a different manufacturer? Would pictures of a softopper not be close enough?

Maybe it would make perfect sense if I knew what skyler was so disregard if a stupid question.

Skyler was an extremely popular top back in the 80's and early 90's for K5's and Broncos. They are a different design and are way cooler then the air balloon tops available today. There even used to be a product review of the Skyler top here on CK5 years ago, it was Shawn Spicklers K5.

Are you wanting pics of a soft top or a tonneau cover (pictured above)?

As said in my post, I need pictures of the aluminum framing that Skyler used to bolt to the factory bolt holes for the hard top.

I can not believe nobody so far knows what a Skyler top for a K5 is. They were super popular years ago, and go for big bucks when a good used one pops up on Ebay.

I have a Skylar soft top, the frame parts are different from tonneau cover and mine do NOT use the factory hard top holes on the back of the cab.

I think the biggest reason no one is posting pics is because the tonneau covers haven't been popular for 20 yrs.

I had a Skyler on my 81 back in 2000. Loved it! There wasn't much to the mounting frame. Basic aluminum rail with snaps, and two pockets for the wooden support bows. The pockets were split 1/3 front/back, so that there was equal support front to back.

The Skyler looks very sleek

What was on the tail gate portion?

Velcro! The whole top was held on with Velcro. There was a flexible fiberglass strip that went around the b-piller and bolted in to the factory holes. It had a single snap in the center to center the top. The rest of it was lined with Velcro. I was mistaken about the side rails. No snaps, just Velcro. They were fabricated of aluminum angle, 1 x 2 I believe. The 2" side mounted to the bed rails, the 1" side was sticking up and the outer side was lined with Velcro. The pockets for the wooden bows were separate pieces. They mounted to the inside of the bed rails with sheet metal screws. The factory sent a roll of Velcro to line the edge of the tailgate. The trick part is that you had an adjustable bar that mounted inside the cab. This bar was the same kind that trucking companies use to secure loads inside the trailer. Large feet on either end and you would twist the bar to make it longer or shorter. It attached to the top at the seam directly under the rear window, where the top makes it's horizontal turn. Again, Velcro loops were used. This top was very secure, not problems doing 75 on the highway. Having the cab bar tight was the trick to keeping everything together. If you would like me to sketch it out, send me a pm. I'll have to txt it to you.
