Hello guys,

Am requesting your usual help here. While having a recent discussion with a friend of mine on the shocks, I learnt that he has a set of used FOX Shocks that were fitted on his JEEP JK 2009. Now, he is offering them for sale at about US$ 800 (for the whole set of 4-Shocks) - reason is that he just fitted "KING" shocks and he is happier than before.

My Q: Is there any chance that that any of the Rear or Front Shocks can be fitted on my 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD, noting that I just fitted a "ReadyLify" 2.5" Leveling-Key in the Front; together with a 2" Rear-Block. The following are the shocks description and dimensions:

FOX shocks, 2" diameter with Remote-Reservoir (2" with adjustable performance knobs):

  • Rear length 'eye-to-eye': Open=70cm & Closed= 44cm (Reservoire 21.5cm), and
    [*]Front Length 'eye-to-bolt': Open=73cm & Closed= 45cm (Reservoir 28cm).
Since am not a 'shock-specialist', I hope this info is clear for receiving your earliest help/advice, which am looking forward to.

A point-for-sharing: My long-term plan (in about 2-years from now), is to fix either proper KING, or FOX shocks, with upgraded "premium-grade control arms".

Thanks.

Note: I posted this Thread in the "Pre-Runner/Desert Racing Section", but no response received, so I opted to return to this 'popular section', where I believe the Members are passing-by more often.

Will it work? Probably, but you'll want to re-valve, and the lengths won't be optimal. You can get the correct shocks for your truck the first time for $800 or a bit above that.

Thanks for passing by and leaving such a good advice, which I'll go by. Indeed, it's safer and ecnomically viable to go with an exact fit set from a reputed website retailer.

Yes sir.. if you dont want to adapt them to your truck then dont bother... better get the ones you really need..
