Looking for some info on the passenger seat mounts... the old man swapped out the seats along time ago and some master fabricator made some shit mounts. And by by master I mean shade tree idiot with a welder that kinda worked.

Seat sits a few inches taller than the driver side and isn’t even square

I’ve been searching but can’t seem to find a replacement. I’ve been contemplating taking these mounts out and cutting them down. But would much rather find an old set. Any help would be appreciated.

Those look like ones from a square K5, but I don't know when they went to a high back.

They are incredibly rare which means when you do find them, they are expensive.
I was going to say the same thing… if you like the seats that are in it modify what you go to make it work. But you might get lucky and find factory stuff if you wait. Or pay.

I can live with the seats they are pretty comfy.... it’s the passenger side tilt up bracket that’s not right.

It need to be lowered by a few inches

I think the seats were out of a van or motor home.... not sure. Seats I can live with... the brackets are just whacky, way to high and out of square. I will need to pull them out and see what I can do to modify.

Anyone have pictures of the 72’ mounts?

Decided to just fabricate a solid mount until I decide what to do about seats. Will post pictures when I get them built and installed.
I wish I had a picture of the stock one but it’s really just a sheetmetal bracket with a few holes in it.

Found one on motor city..... looks to be right. But the main issue right now is the seat is 3 inches taller than the driver seat. I don’t want to start lowering bracket until we are 100% sure what we want to do with seats. Need to hit up a couple junkyards and see if we can find.

That looks like it. Someone must have started making reproductions.

Threw together some seat brackets. Don’t zoom in… you will see my horrible welds. I could use a little refresher/ practice

Thanks everyone for the input and help.

Even a correct low-back Blazer seat (with original brackets) doesn't "flip forward" all that well. IIRC it still hits the windshield and doesn't really give you all that much clearance to climb into the back seat either. If you have a lifted truck, it's incredibly awkward trying to climb into the back seat through the passenger side door anyway.... much easier to just grab the rollcage, climb on the rear tire and throw a leg over the bedrail. :)

Ultimately, I just gave up on the factory mounts and built a set using the modern Sparco tracks so that both the driver AND passenger seats could slide forward and back as desired. The factory mounts never allowed me to slide back far enough on the driver side to be comfortable, but with new mounts the seat goes WAAAY back and almost hits the rear step-up area at it's maximum setting.

I’ll x2 all of that. Even with mine flipping forward, it’s still hard to get back there. Maybe someday I’ll redesign them.

If you decide to redo the bracket talk to @K5Devil he has fab up some nice ones for squares, I'm sure he can do the same for a 1st gen

Just a thought, some cars have a passenger seat that folds over so the back is a table, 2009 dodge avenger for one. If a seat like that were used you could fold it then tilt it and have better access. The avenger seats aren't uncomfortable, i spent quit a bit of time in them our fleet had 400 of those cars at 1 time.

Jeeps have a clever seatrail setup that slides the seat forward first, then the whole thing releases and arcs forward to offer pretty decent access for climbing into the rear seat area. Might be worth studying or just retrofitting a set to your application if you are committed to tilting seat option.

Down the road I will have to take a look at those type flip ups. But for now it’s just going to be small grandkids and a dog that goes in the back!

The mounts that had been put in were a couple inches high…. Had to lower them so the passenger wasn’t towering over the driver lol
