Have a neighbor girl who wants me to put some Nerf bars on her truck for her....so they must be out of the box, ready to install, I'm not making a set:waytogo: Must have them by this weekend as well, so quick ship or someplace close by that would have them in a day or two (like Napa, Pepboys, or any of the other chainstores)

Its a 2001GM 1500 4x4 extended cab shortbox.

What is a good overall brand to get....

they must be durable as they are exposed to the MI salt winters, must be strong not some flimsy, for show only type, and a good buy overall.

Got any experience with some you'd like to share?

For that quick turnaround, I'd hit up amazon and see what you can get shipped with a prime account.

Quick search for tube steps or nerf bars, there a quite a few that qualify.

Check reviews, pick a name brand, and have fun.

For our uses, most of them aren't strong. But, that being said, for step use, on the road, that 99% of people demand, they will all do fine.

cut out the rocker panels and weld in some square tube. then of course you're gonna want to flat belly the truck to take advantage of all the newly gained clearance. i'd swap in an atlas and a Dana 60 while i was at it. :woot:

N fabs are sweet, I'll show her a pic...

she wants to build her truck offroad now, I told her about SAS kit that DIY4X is making for such a purpose and to tell her grandpa to get off the old F350 w/ the SD60 in it and we'll get started end of summer.

Oh and she is paying cash, just like every other kid in college. She is the cute girl next door type though!

You dog Dave :pimp:

I've honestly never seen a set of nerf bars here that didn't rot unless they were stainless.

Adam, did you meet her when you were down for the build?
She came over from next door while we were all standing there (most had to pick up their jaw from the driveway, but not me as I've seen her before!):pimp:

Things are a bit... Fuzzy

Ill leave it at that

N-fabs... solid, good thick powder coat, and tuck tight.
I also don't like how most nerfs end at the cab.. looks kinda unfinished.
:pimp:
