Where would be the best retail place for these? i do not want to order them, paying 60+ for shipping just seems absurd! i am looking at Dee Zee DZ370161 for my 91, wondering if i can have Autozone, O'Riley or Pep Boys order it for me. Anyone have experience with this? i searched the forums, and i found online dealers with the search but, again i'd like to save the 60$ shipping for something else!

those things are JUNK anymore.

paper thin and rust out fast .

i hate it when people want them installed these days . but pays good.

and westin is CRAP anymore.

get some nice ones from like diy4x or off road design. little more up front but 10 better and more function also .

Well, you're not in the rust belt, so they oughta last you a while.

Note that these are very thin walled tube, so they're great steps but should not be taken off-road. The ORD and DIY4X and other such stuff are made for dragging on rocks without major damage to the tube. They're called "sliders" for a reason! :haha:

If you're just mall-crawling (i.e. you want a step for short people and don't anticipate the tubes impacting anything) then yeah, the commercial steps might work well for you. A bit of Googling says you can get 'em free-ship, though they may pad the price accordingly:

Go to four wheel parts. They sell all major brands including DeeZee but unless you really must have DeeZee the smittybuilt are usually 150 black 200 Chrome. Same tube manufacture just different names on the little black pads and mounting plates

Pretty sure that Smittybilt no longer sells 'em for the older trucks ... was surprised to see anybody does still.

Yeah i am in the desert pretty much, not much rain\snow or rust.As 4x4 capable as this Monster is, I do not plan on taking it to extremes. Dirt roads, and rough craggy trails along with trips to Big bear and Lake Arrowhead is about my limit. I am a big dude and having to lift my fat butt in this truck is taking its toll haha. just looking for basic. the wife is getting tired too haha! 4wheel parts will have a visit from me this weekend. i will follow up !

The smitty bilts on mine are terrible. Flaking something fierce. In fact...they'll be leaving my truck this week, perhaps for DIY sliders down the road. Just terrible shape.
