Okay, yesterday I was driving, coasting up to a stop sign and my engine shut off.
I coasted to a gas station thinking my fuel gauge might be off, put 10 gal in, it started but ran rough. I made it down the street and it died.
@nvrenuf lives around the corner and his wife was gracious enough to tow it over there.

I cleaned some junk out of the fuel filter and replaced it, along with hosing out the carb.

The spark was weak, I replaced the ignition coil, it then started. But continues to run rough, any throttle over 900 rpm and it dies.

I replaced ignition control module thinking it might be bad, no change.

I'm going to try and cobble a fuel pressure gauge together to eliminate the pump.

Other than that I am stumped, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Iirc...

stock 350
carb'd
mechanical fuel pump
typical HEI ignition
headers
fancy valve covers

Sounds like you are on the right track. Fuel pressure will tell the tale, if it's good then look to the carb.
