I am looking to replace the seats in my suburban. I want ot get 99 and new GM seats with the integrated seat belts. My suburban will soon be our families DD with it's ability to hold three car seats. My seat belts in the rear are no-operational.

I have searched and know the front buckets are pretty straight forward. What I am curious about is if the 2nd row bench can be made to work? The few times I have been in newer subs and tahoes, it looks like the seats are similar and fold down similar. Has anyone replaced their second row suburban bench with a bench out of a new suburban or 4 door tahoe?

There was an add in OffRoad for BedRyder.com, I've been seriously considering this because the individual new seats, frame and harness's would cost more than one order. http://www.bedryder.com/index.html I dont know how old your kids are but these are relatively small seats - so I think they may be perfect for the back seat of a K5 or Sub.

Pretty sure the floors are totally different. The "low" floor of the 2nd row continues all the way to the front of the 3rd seat in the newer burb's....ours steps up at the hinge of the 2nd row seat. I would look into getting your seats recovered, and finding belts.

Going to be a huge deal to swap newer style 2nd row, and truthfully, i see it coming out pretty funky. Now, the front seats, on the other hand.....would rock. If someone makes adapter plates to bolt to my stock sliders, ill be all over that.

My 91 seats suck .

Hmm, Well that would suck if they were different. I thought they were similar as the new burbs seats fold down flat (don't they?). I will have to find someone with a burb or tahoe that has the integrated seat belts to look at.

My rear bench has more problems than just the upholstery and belts. The seats are worn out. When trying to put a car seat in the middle position, it leans one way due to worn springs. I may look at finding some nicer seats of the same style that I have.

Those Bedryder seats look interesting, but I need a bench to fit three car seats. My oldest, almost 5 years old, would fit in those seats most likely. My other two, almost 2 yrs old and a newborn coming in May, will need regular car seats.

I haven't looked at a 2000 generation, but my description is correct for the 92-99 style.

Might want to check out any local re-upholstry places that do furniture. I know a guy few years back that had his early 80's p/u bench done by a lady that does furniture and it cost him less than a new seat. It took her a while, but damn that seat was comfortable.
