I was having some clearanceissues with the stock setup. It was hitting the exhaust pipe that I tried to tuck up next to the frame rail on the drivers side. Made getting into first very difficult. Better yet I coundn't. So I fixed it!!!! One of the guys at our shop had it on his heep and is going to the hurst cable shifter and sold me this for 75.00 bucks!!!:deal: Its a 18 inch lokar.

Thats cool, I was thinking of going with one of those or maybe a cable shift. Does that have a reverse lockout? what keeps you from bumping it into reverse?

yeah you have to push a button on the top of the shifter to get it out of park and reverse. It was a very easy install.

Very nice!

good deal too....

Please give us a detailed review at some point... Lokars haven't been heavily discussed...

I'm very happy with my AC, but I'll be anxious to hear a good review on Lokar stuff anyway...

I have the same one for a th400 sitting in my garage. I'm going to do a manual swap so it might be going on the for sale section one day. It is really nice, seems to be a very strong set-up.

The one for the 400 will work on the 700R4 right it is just a different shift pattern on the knob right? I was looking at these for my rig as I wanna get off the column but they are $$$$.

I run their "Nostalgia" shifter in my '56. It has the double bends in the shifter handle to put the shift knob right where you need it while you're driving. The position is adjustable, so you can set it where you like. I got the 23" since I can't stand to reach down for a shifter. The lockout works well too.

Recommend you go to www.lokar.com and request a catalog before you buy. They have a few different styles of shifters and a lot of other goodies too. They're stuff isn't cheap, but the quality is great!

Got any pics? I`m having a tough time trying to find a picture of a sm465 shifter to compare it to...not sure if I want the regular 18" one, or the 23" nostalgic...
