I went up to Pa. and bought myself a 1978 gmc stepside truck.
pretty good shape, great running condition. of course it needs some minor tinkering here and there but all in all a good deal. I now have a work truck again, plus its a stepside which i have always wanted. I am assuming its a 350 motor atleast till i run the numbers. The tranny is a th350, the transfer case is supposed to be a 203 which I assume is the reason the rear shaft is not a slip yoke. The gearing according to the glove box info says 2:76 :eek1: so the highway driving is pretty low rpm. Anyways, I will start replacing things as needed but for now its mainly to use as a work truck.

Very nioce! Stepsides are the best :waytogo:

Also I see you have the same roll bar I had in my truck. Its a POS get rid of it...

Yup stepsides are nice. Mine's been in the works since i got it early this summer. It's still sitting in the same spot and hasn't even been touched haha.

nice truck though. Is that a newer chevy truck bumper on back? Looks a little tweaked...

here's mine like i bought it :D

I am not sure where that bumper came from but it is tweaked and is coming off this weekend.

Not sure which one, but one of them will become a dedicated trail rig :D

Your K5 is such a sweet driver, I know which one I'd turn into a trail rig.

Step's look awesome on 44's, remember?
(Julian's @ Rausch ;))

I dig step sides, I dont have one yet, I have a 89' SRW 1 ton crewcab 4x4, a 73' K5 1 ton project, a 89' burb 1/2 4x4, a 70' chevy 2WD LB pick up, a 06' 2500HD 2WD LB pickup. but I really really really want a step side pickup too damnit! :D my woman says no more trucks, we will see.

I do remember. and you are right, the k5 is a little bit sweeter. I do still need to use the stepside as a truck i can do work at home so 44's might be a little to tall.:wink1:
