I have a flyer and went to the web site, looks really cool. The Miller Road Show was selling them for $1242 and I got a quote from one local shop of $1351. Some weld shops have not even herd of it yet. MSRP is like $1600 or so. Im buying one when I can afford it.

Yeah, looks pretty cool. I seen an ad in my latest 4wheeler mag. I couldn't find a price on them though. Someday, i'll buy that tig machine that i've wanted for so long now.

I don't really care for the lack of a foot control. Is there like an optional one? Either way I'd spend the extra change. Figure any real major aluminum welding I would do is about 1/4", so 3/16" doesn't cut it.

Yes, there is an option for a foot pedal.

WOW, thats a huge difference. How much is the Lincoln?

Personally, I think the Miller Syncrowave 200 is a better machine, but I've always been a Miller guy :wink1:

Here's the comparison between the SW200 and the Lincoln Precision Tig 225: http://www.millerwelds.com/products/tig/comparisons/syncrowave_200.html

Here's the brochure: http://www.millerwelds.com/pdf/spec_sheets/AD4-4.pdf

The Miller weighs 30lbs more than the Lincoln - for a transformer based machine, that is very telling :deal:

I don't think it is completely unfair. I have welded with a Syncrowave 250, and at the same amperage level (say, 150A) the 250 and the 200 are surprisingly similar. The 250 obviously has more power than the 200, and a higher duty cycle at 150+ amps, but otherwise they are similar as far as arc quality and such goes. In other words, I think if you like the 350 better, even at lower power settings, then you would probably also like the 200 better than the Lincoln.

If I had the money I would get a Dynasty 250, but I can't say anything bad about my 200, especially for the price.

Well the unfairness comes from the water cooled torch on our machine versus the air cooled torch on the Lincoln, as well as being able to fine tune pre and post flow times...

The little Lincoln welded fine.

Ahh. Well, FWIW the SW200 has adjustable pre- and post flow, although I have found that the auto post-flow works pretty well.

As for air vs water cooled torches, not much to say there. I'm using an air-cooled unit as well, but I don't often crank the power up high enough to wish for a water cooled torch. Still, it is on my wish list :D

Call me spoiled...then again it's not a hobby machine either. ;)

This is the machine I use at work...

I have used the Lincoln 225 TIG machine at a customers shop a few times. I know it's unfair to compare the two, but I was pretty unimpressed with the Lincoln...and I normally like Lincoln machines.

We had some extra funds in the tool account at work last year and picked that up for all of our Tiggin' needs... they won't let me on it yet but the other guys love it...

It's a very nice machine to use. Ours has a messed up gas solenoid though, so you gotta manually turn on the gas flow on the torch handle, and then remember to turn it off when you stop welding.

I gotta remember to pull that out and get a new one...

Well, apparently the pre- and post-flow isn't an issue for that machine :haha:

True that...

What is that hissing noise coming from the TIG machine? :haha:
