New Axles!

Thanks to FourwheelerJeff I have new axles!

14 bolt sf w/4.56 and a detroit
10 bolt front 4.56 open

Just need to clean them up, fix a bent shock mount and we are in business...(unless anyone know where to find a disk brake conversion for the 14 sf )

There is a guy on ebay who sells a lot of disk conversions for all types of axles. I spoke with him on the phone at one point and nothing about our conversation seemed like he was a fraud. Anyways if you go to autos and type in 14 bolt his name is Hardoffroad. I'll try to find a link for ya.

NOw my question is on this SF axle is the drum floating on the studs or are they part of teh drum assembly? I would assume they are part of the drum but I haven't dealt much with brakes lately. I was just wondering if I was going to need a differnt type of axle shaft etc.

anyone ever converted one of these axles?

the 14sf is much like a 10 bolt so it should be easy to pull apart much unlike the heavy 14ff

Yeah I think I found a diagram in a old chiltons manual. Looks pretty stright forward.

LOL yeah they are, and i happened find them local from a member on here. Everything kind of just fell into place.

Matt. I saw those for sale in the classifides and thought about letting you know but they were in Texas and didn't think there was any way to make it feasible for you to get them shipped out here. those would have been perfect for your needs. Damn.
