yeah, they have a hydraulic bump built into them. I am installing a short poly bump still on the buggy so under a hard hit all that force isn't going through just the shocks and mounting tabs/hardware.

So is this the new crawler Gus or a new kind of do it all type. I assume since you are considering something small its not the Alaskan expedition only style rig.
I would do the Jeep. I would not use air shocks. I don't like how they unload up and down and shifting.
ORIs would be super nice but I am not convinced they are the best in every situation.
But they work really well.
As far as the frame on the Jeepster goes, they aren't that complicated considering you would be cutting most of the stuff off, go get some 2x6 rec. tube and make a new frame. 3/16 thick will be fine.
I would also move the wheel wells. They are kind of short stock I kind of think I know where you are going with this one
Tube makes great framesKind of leaning that way, frame is shot but I have a good scout 2 frame![]()

Scout frames are fully boxed,![]()

waaaaaa.... I shoulda just bought a scout![]()
thats the short cut way and not nearly as funsell 2-3 of them trucks and buy a scout II to build
no cooler truck ever created
thats why I've had 3
If you decide to run the airshocks definitely setup a suckdown winch.
when it comes to buying joint from like ruff stuff wait till a holiday, they often have 20% off and free shipping sales too.
