o ya can some one tell me. do the diesel motor mounts work same as sbc? im thinking i need to change them or im just retarded and they arent lining up right.

god i miss this site. its good to be back on here.

confusious say never walk away from holley blue pump hooked up to tank to drain old diesel into 5 gallon jug!

dam those things are quick i walked away for what seemed like 3 mins and it had pumped diesel all over my shop driveway! uggg.

motors in.

hope to fire it soon.

anybody know why i cant find a kickdown on the th400 in this thing? im starting to think its not gonna work with my sbc 350.

Kickdown for a TH400 is electric and should be near the gas pedal. It's been quite a while since I dealt with that in a parts truck I had. i think the switch is on the floor at the base of the gas pedal.

The dirty sub

Dirty and finally running.

thanks to many trips to pick and pull and kragens the 350 and TH 400 NP208 lives.

got a few oil leaks and still gotta remount the motor mounts only 1 is hooked up now but it made a trip down the street.

also picked up these 37" GOODYEARS off craigslist.

now the hunt for the right lift and a hood and lots of misc stuff.

It sounds like you're working a lot harder than most of us. Keep up the good work.:waytogo: If you're gonna be near Palmdale any time soon, I'd give you a clean hood. I've got 6" lift front springs here, too.:D

ya this has been a bitch. if you can beilieve it ilve spent almost 100$ on parts trips to pick and pull. 3.99 here 12.99 there dang that **** adds up fast!

but she runs....

dual batteries are in.

dam th400 is leaking like a siv! and the tool that wired this thing ya um dual electric fans that you have to turn on and off under hood, ya thats dumb!

not really a fan of the hydro brakes think i may replace it with a power boost setup. anybody done this? i think it should be easy. but tell me.

just dont like the thought of a belt keeping my brakes goin.

why would you want to convert to Vacum assit??? hydro assist is the way to go

That same belt keeps your steering going, too. Keep the hydro setup.

But, if you still want to convert, it's straight bolt-on operation. Booster is mounted with six bolts, and IIRC the middle ones are on a hydro frame (b*tch to take off because nuts are inside the dash) when vac has all six nuts on engine compartment.

im going to trust in what you guys gotta say, plus its a 3/4 ton, must have the heavy shiz for a reason. It sure makes short work of these tall tiresl well see how it works when i get to some 37s.

looking for rims and a lift and a hood now.

rear window works, thanks to a healthy dose of wd40 and some new grease,

tranny leaks fixed thanks to a bad line fitting being replaced.

its getting there. sorry for the lack of pics theres really nothing to see yet,

when i start tearing the bumpers off and cutting the body ll surely be posting pics. thats coming soon.

hydro boost is the way to go for sure. if the 3/4 ton master cyl isn't enough with the big meats try grabbing a 86 k3500 m/c... I believe it's the 2nd largest one made at 1 5/8" bore. The e350 van is the only one bigger at 1 3/4" but wont bolt up. Made a huge difference and was only $35 at napa... granted that was a few years back.

so im curious. I have looked at the 6" kits.

and im also looking at the shackle flips.

if i where to run the shackle flip in the rear would i need to run blocks? im trying to figure out the best approach to lifting this thing. so far ive found lifts for 445 shipped. thats about the cheapest ive found.

and yes cheap because this is a budge truck.

coudl i go with a 2" block and a shackle flip for a total of 6" of lift to match the front 6" springs?

Yes, or you could do a flip and 6" shackle and see how it looks. That'd be about 5" lift, and it'll give you a stronger shackle. If need be, you could use a zero-rate to get another inch. BTW, you'll probably have to shim the pinion down after the shackle flip, a little more so with the long shackle.

Update pics!!!

got a package from rough country today!

new lift kit!!

also did some work over weekend changed the radiator support and picked up a new hood from the wrecking yard.

front end is gone making room for new front bumper build coming soon....

rear is in.

had a busted shock tower, that had to be rewelded back on the port side.

only went wtth the 4" blocks because i think i am going to opt for the drop shackle kit once i get the exhaust out of there.

lol the hood scoop came from a boat its not going on just snapped a gay poser pic for fun.

fronts done. i think i need some longer brake lines.

and some different lug nutz.

otherwise its in. also prob need to adjust the steering and align it.

realized that the rear is way lower then the front, I could not get the add a leafs in under the rear leafs.

look for some ideas from you guys on how to get that last 6" out of the rear to level this off with out breaking the bank?
