Heh..this is my place holder til I get some pics tomorrow or wed. I got rid of my "madmax" bumper and went with a much lighter pre runner style.

When I removed my winch and bumper the front of my truck raised 2" , no lie. I was surprised. I figure all that extra weight hanging off the frame cant be good so I wanted a lighter bumper and be able to remove my winch and move it to the back if need be. And I can store the winch in the truck out of the elements. I havent been off roading much, so I didnt need the stoutness of my "madmax" bumper.

Ive got it on my porch now being painted. Once INstalled Ill get some pics

The bumper turned out really good, its pretty stout, but I wont be mowing any small trees down with it though.

Also. I painted this with Rustoleum Hammered BLACK brush on paint. Its not black exactly, like a really dark charcoal gray, but I really like the color and will be redoing the rear bumper and repainting it the same as the ftont. Im thinking of moving the spare inside and cleaning up the back some. So I maybe selling the rear bumper or the top section soon.

Nice bumper, badmix

It'd be nice to see what you replaced (mad max bumper) so we can get an idea of what the physical and appearance changes were.

Nah - It didnt outsmart - I just didnt bother. :doah:

But, yeah - There is quite a difference. I've never been a platform person, but respect individuality. Looking good is just that. I like your new bumper more :D

Looks good I'm going to do something similar

Where in FL are you? I see the bay news 9 on the van

Have you thought about cutting the sheetmetal below the bumper off?

like this

Ain't mine, I was just being a smarta$$. (Mine's actually more like the old one -- I'm not so much of a tube person -- but homemade.)

Ive thought about trimming the fender, but knowing me, this isnt the last bumper ill get/build, so Im not sure. I dont think I would just cut the fender per se. I would cut some and the fold the bottom under so it looks more natural, if that is possible. Im still getting use to the bumper, so Ill see what or if any changes will be made. If you look closely at the two diff. pics of the old and new bumper and the tires and fenderwell area, you can see that I have more room (life) with the new bumper. :D

If you don't want to cut the fender you could always just paint the part bellow the bumper Black. That would help mask it so you would not have the white protuding bellow.

I'd love a bumper like your old one! I need something heavy duty to push trees over when we are running down overgrown trails (why is it that the big GMC always has to go first?! Wussy Jeeps!)

I tried to post pics.

It's a feature. We had a spat of random Russian kids signing up and posting pictures of anatomically improbable events involving women and farm animals

Really. Thoroughly nasty.

So now you when you sign up, you gotta actually do some posting before you post up pix, and hopefully then we won't see Old Macdonald porn :haha:

Looks much better now . The bigger ones just look like theres too much up front . This compliments your truck better :waytogo:

BTW , when you trim the fender fang ( you really should ) , leave the inner a little longer and fold it up to create a holder for stuff you stick in the fender like a funnel . Otherwise stuff just falls down out on the ground .
