new bushings on front shock, please help

I need to change the bushings on one of my front shock. Do i need to jack the truck up ?
I know it's a very straightforward job and it must sound like a silly question to most of you but when it comes to working on cars I just suck

If Your bushing on Your shock is bad then the whole shock is probably bad. No You do not need to jack up Your truck to change shocks.
