I bought a new edlebrock 650 AVS/Offroad carb recently, installed it and during the install discovered that the EGR won't fit with the new carb.
The throttle levers are in the way, unlike the quadracrap I pulled off, the levers weren't anywhere near the EGR...

I am sitting on a 1978 K10- 350 SBC 5.7l

Has anyone been down this road already and have any suggestions?, I looked for a lower profile EGR valve, but they are the same size as the one I pulled off. I have found block off plates, but am unsure if this is a good idea or not...

Currently I cut the top off the EGR and yep it leaks antifreeze, lol, anyways, I already went down the path of buying a riser plate, but it wasn't enough and the larger riser plate I ran out of hood space.

You have some major problems if your EGR is leaking antifreeze. There is no coolant anywhere near the EGR valve.

Well I didn't actually see it leak antifreeze, but i sprung this leak after installing the new carb, must have popped a freezer plug then or something liek that *sigh*.

Still have this EGR thing to fix or workaround- Any ideas?

I think Edelbrock has some funky EGR valve "adapters" that snake it out of the way??..I have an old EB catalog in my garage but I'm not out there now,I'm pretty sure they have a way to retain the EGR valve though...I cheated and blocked mine off then it interfered with my carb though!..(Emission exempt truck!)..
