Evening Gents!
Looking to install a new carpet kit. Where did you get yours, how is the quality and how much did it cost? Thank you!!! pictures are welcome!

I got one from LMC once, and it was not the best quality, but it was still better than an old wore out grungy one. The carpet kit did not have enough carpet all the way to the edges to allow the carpet to pinch down under the interior molding pieces like the factory one did. The factory carpet had about 1" extra carpet all along the edges to go under the interior molding pieces so they could hold the carpet down.

Looks pretty damn close to oem. Even has the hard mat where your heels rest on the driver side. Much better than the cheap molded shit I ordered which was more like speaker box carpet lol.

Acc brand is as close to oem as I could find.

I have the RockAuto carpet and I'm happy with it too.

Anyone have any discount codes for RockAuto?

I am also looking fireplace the carpet in my 72 K5.
Last winter my hard top leaked and the entire interior got sloppy soggy wet. Had to rip out the old kit.
But when I order samples from ACC, their loop looks super clumpy and thick. The stuff I pulled out of the truck was it OEM, but it was definitely well molded and was a more neatly organized and less clumpy loop.
Does anyone have an idea where I can source a molded carpet that has less of a clumpy loop? (And more subtle varioation in fiber tone or some added speck to make it more visually pleasing would be nice as well.)

99% of all carpet sold for all trucks is made by ACC. Most all sources you order from, when it arrives the box says ACC. They make two styles of carpet pricey and extra pricey.

The fumes will be awful if you burn the old carpet. You'd probably have to cut it up anyway, as the whole thing would surely smother the fireplace. :haha:

You won't find patterned carpets for cars without doing something custom. You basically find just "loop" and "cut pile" and ACC has always offered both in the past.

Of course, you only have 1 post, so you probably won't read this....
